Beginning Farmer Programs

SKILL SHARE

The Skill Share program is a series of group based learning opportunities for new and beginning farmers to be able to dive deep into a particular production topic.

Each topic-focused cohort will meet multiple times throughout the growing season to learn about different seasonal aspects of the subject. (The number of meetups will vary by topic.)

This program is run in partnership with UConn Extension's Solid Ground program.

FARMER CIRCLES

Farmer Circles are peer-to-peer learning communities for farmers interested in sharing obstacles and strategies in a small, semi-structured, supportive environment. Each project year, farmers will join a circle focused on a topic or issue that interests them and explore this topic together. In addition to digging into a particular topic together, these circles will provide farmers with a social network that they can rely on to counter the stresses and risks of farming.

CT NOFA no longer manages the Farmer Circle program. It is now facilitated by the New Connecticut Farmer Alliance. Learn more here.
