Farm Share Update 2025

The Northeast Organic Farming Association of Connecticut (CT NOFA) is deeply grateful to the farmers, families, and community partners who have made the Farm Share Program a success over the past three years. Through this initiative, we have worked together to provide fresh, local, and organic produce to individuals and families in need across Connecticut, fostering a stronger, more equitable food system.
Since 2022, we have distributed over $42,500 to support CSA programs at 24 farms to offer 157 subsidized, seasonal food shares to Connecticut residents in need.
As we plan for the year ahead, limited funding has forced us to make the difficult decision to pause the Farm Share Program for 2025. While this was not the outcome we had hoped for, it will provide an opportunity for us to explore additional funding opportunities that will help ensure the program’s long-term impact. We remain committed to our mission of supporting local farmers and increasing access to organic, locally grown food.
In the interim, CT NOFA is happy to provide a platform for farmers to promote their CSA programs to the public. Farmers operating Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs can share their program details with us, and we will promote them through our extensive network—at no cost. This initiative aims to connect more community members with local farmers and keep the spirit of the Farm Share Program alive by fostering direct relationships between farmers and consumers, helping us continue to grow a resilient and sustainable food system that benefits everyone.

2026 Seed Swap at CT NOFA Winter Conference
The Seed Swap Table is where conference attendees can exchange seeds and diversify their gardens and farms with unique and regionally adapted varieties. The swap is open to all conference participants, from home gardeners to experienced growers. Participants are invited to bring labeled seeds to share and take home new seeds to try. The swap operates on a trust-based, give-and-take system — bring what you can and take what sparks your interest.

National Leader of the Movement for Green Amendments Speaking at Public Town Halls Across Connecticut on the CT Environmental Rights Amendment
Maya van Rossum, founder and leader of the national movement for Green Amendments to state constitutions across the United States and Delaware Riverkeeper, will be speaking in a series of public town hall events across Connecticut. All of these events are free and open to the public. Light food and refreshments will be provided. Photo identification will be required to enter the Stamford Government Center. Key legislators from each part of the state are invited.
