
Dr. William Brinton
Dr. William Brinton grew up in Pennsylvania attending agricultural boarding school in Ohio. He studied microbiological and agricultural sciences under the direction of Nobel Laureate Albert Schatz. He subsequently earned degrees in agronomy (BS) and soil and plant science (MS) and was awarded a doctorate in environmental science for ground-breaking research on fatty-acid cycles in composts. Brinton founded Woods End Laboratories in 1974 and today Woods End is America’s longest running independent compost laboratory. Brinton is active in numerous agricultural associations and has published more than 35 scientific papers on soil, compost, methane generation and horticultural topics.
