Duties / Responsibilities

Wind Hill Community Farm & Learning Center, Inc. is seeking a Farm Manager for our 2024 CSA of 30 shares in Glastonbury CT.   Wind Hill Farm is a nonprofit community farm that promotes local farming, organic principles, environmental stewardship, healthy lifestyles and the enjoyment of outdoor activities and community events.  Our farm is a model of sustainability, with on-site composting, low till farming.  And we’re off-grid with a solar-powered water system.

Our produce farm grows 20+ types of typical Connecticut produce for sale primarily through a CSA.  The Farm Manager will have primary responsibility for preparing the soil, planting seeds, transplanting, tending and treating plants as required, harvesting and preparing the vegetables for distribution to our CSA members. All the work will be subject to the approval and support from the board of directors, with the guidance and active participation from the Executive Director and volunteers. Times/days of work to be agreed upon based on weekly demands.  Involvement in our 30-bed community garden and community, food and music events and activities will be at the discretion of the Farm Manager. Anticipated part-time 15-20 hours/week for a total of approx. 350 hours for the season from mid-May through the end of the CSA in late September.
