Farm & Flower Manager
Employer: Muddy Feet Flower Farm
Work Location: Ashford, CT
Term of Employment: March - November
Compensation Range: $15,000-$16,000
Duties / Responsibilities
- 20-25 hours/week
- Collaborating with Owner on the season’s crop plan
- Overseeing the seeding/planting schedule
- Direct seeding and Greenhouse seeding
- Transporting plants from the Greenhouse to the Farm
- Organizing flats to be planted in the field or hoop house
- Transplanting plugs and seedlings
- Overseeing and implementing Fertilization schedule
- General Plant Care; watering, fertilizing, troubleshooting, weeding
- Making and managing Compost Tea and KNF fertilizer
- General Farm Work: weeding, pruning, assist in bed turnover, transplanting
- Harvesting and conditioning flowers
Desired Applicant Experience
- 1-2 years farming or gardening experience in either flowers and/or vegetables or
- College/academic credits in Agriculture
- Flexible schedule
- Reliable transportation
- Self-starter and can take initiative

Muddy Feet Flower Farm, Connecticut’s premiere farmer-florist is looking for a partner to lead the farming side of the business. We practice organic, mostly no-till and regenerative farming. My season runs April through December. I grow flowers for retail, some wholesale and to support my event design studio. Muddy Feet is located 30 minutes from Hartford in Eastern Connecticut near UCONN/Storrs, western Rhode Island and south-central Massachusetts.
