CSA Manager Position

Wind Hill Community Farm & Learning Center, Inc. is seeking a Farm Manager for our 2024 CSA in East Glastonbury CT.

Wind Hill is a nonprofit community farm that promotes local farming, healthy lifestyles and environmental stewardship.  We have offered a 20-30 member CSA for 11 years on our small produce farm, using approx. 1 acre of field/hoophouse, producing 20+ types of typical Connecticut produce for sale primarily through a CSA.

The CSA Manager will have primary responsibility for planning and preparing our 14-week CSA offering 30 shares, starting with preparation in May, preparing the soil, planting seeds, starting plants, transplanting, tending and treating plants as required, harvesting and preparing the vegetables for on-site distribution to our CSA members. All work will be subject to the direction, guidance and support of the farm management. On-site assistance will be provided by farm management, field workers, volunteers and Board Members.  There is an opportunity to earn an incentive bonus by increasing the number of CSA shares sold.

Times/days of work to be agreed upon based on weekly demands. Anticipated part-time 20 hours/week for 18 weeks at $20/hour for a total anticipated fee of approx. $7,200 for the season from mid-May to the end of September.
