Join CT NOFA at Fall Gatherings in New Haven and Newtown this November

24 Fall Fundraiser in-person news post

October 30, 2024

In celebration of autumn, join us this November for a pair of gatherings with CT NOFA members and friends in New Haven and Newtown – all are invited!

As farm activities wind down with the end of the growing season, these events are the perfect venue for  catching up with farmers and friends from across our community to celebrate the successes – as well as bemoan the pitfalls! – of a long summer. Bring friends…or make some new ones…but definitely join us!

These events are part of our fall fundraising appeal. Attendance is entirely free and without obligation! (Other than, we hope, good humor and happiness from all.) However, we hope you’ll consider them an opportunity to begin or renew an existing CT NOFA membership. Students and seniors can join for as little as $30, and individual memberships are $50. Supporting us as a registered CT NOFA member is a great way to invest in our mission of a more organic Connecticut, today and in the future! Of specific interest to CT NOFA are pesticide industry provisions that would strip states and cities of their power to regulate certain pesticides and would shield the manufacturers from liability.

Thanks to support through the USDA’s Transition to Organic Partnership Program, CT NOFA has made available a number of organic record keeping checklists for specific farming sectors. These checklists are intended to provide a framework for management of records that are required when a farm operation is preparing to certify organic, or a current organic farm is preparing for recertification.
