Join Randall Mel, Jr., Director of Food, Nutrition, and Wellness Services for Middletown Public Schools, School Meals for All CT Coalition Leader and Vice Chair of the Board of Directors for End Hunger CT!, for an interactive session exploring how students can turn advocacy into tangible change in Connecticut’s food systems.
This workshop will demystify the state legislative process and highlight the critical role your voice can play in shaping policies that impact food security, sustainability, and environmental justice. Participants will gain practical tools for engaging with lawmakers, organizing campaigns, and leveraging their unique perspectives to advance equitable and just food policies in our communities. Whether you are new to advocacy or looking to deepen your impact, this session will empower you to move from awareness to action.
