Farm Share Spotlight: Common Ground High School

FMPP 2024 Promo Common Ground

February 9, 2024

Common Ground High School in New Haven is participating in CT NOFA’s Farm Share Program, which provides reduced cost Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) shares – also known as farm shares – to Connecticut residents in need of financial assistance.

Common Ground (CG) is a center for environmental learning in New Haven, CT. Farm meets forest meets city on CG’s 20 acre campus at the base of West Rock Ridge. CG grows over 10,000 pounds of fresh produce annually, including vegetables, fruits, herbs, and flowers. They also raise laying hens, ducks, turkeys, goats, and sheep. Farm products go to their Cafeteria, Farm Share, Mobile Market, and more!

Their CSA program runs for 12 weeks and offer extras from local businesses and farms (like corn, honey, coffee, flour, flowers).

If you are a Connecticut resident who is interested in a reduced cost CSA share from Common Ground, fill out their application form here. You can also learn more about Common Ground on their website.

Don’t need a discounted CSA but would like to support Common Ground in providing discounted CSA shares to those in need? You can donate to their fund here.

To learn more about the program or to search for a participating farm close to you, visit the Farm Share Program page.
