Herbal Formulation Apprentice
Employer: Healing Herbals (Holistic Plant Remedies LLC)
Work Location: Port Jefferson, NY (ferry from Bridgeport, CT)
Term of Employment: Part-time / internship, with potential for full-time
Compensation Range: Paid or for-credit
Duties / Responsibilities
Train directly under our founder, a practicing herbalist of 13 years, along with our herbalists who each have 5 to 10 years of hands-on practice. Most of the time is spent in production and R&D, making real products.
- Prepare tinctures, glycerites and fluid extracts by maceration and percolation
- Run small R&D batches and keep formula, batch and yield records
- Check raw botanicals for quality and signs of adulteration
- Read third-party lab certificates of analysis
- Help develop new products from first formula through labeling
Desired Applicant Experience
Current students or recent grads in herbalism, TCM, botany, plant science, chemistry or nutrition. Detail oriented and good with records.
