CT RCD logo wc2026

CT RC&D cultivates a diverse, equitable, and resilient Connecticut through partnership-driven solutions to enhance natural resource conservation, agriculture, and rural economies. We are proud to promote two of our programs at the CT NOFA Winter Conference: The CT Farm Energy Program and CT Veteran Grown.

The CT Farm Energy Program is a resource and clearinghouse of information to those interested in learning more about on-farm energy opportunities in Connecticut, available programs, grant opportunities, financial incentives, loans, audits, educational opportunities and events. CFEP also has been host to various innovative projects with regards to farms and energy throughout the years. CFEP provides technical assistance to farms in order for them to implement energy projects as well as providing guidance to policy makers.

CT Veteran Grown is backed by the U.S. Small Business Administration (US SBA) and administered by CT RC&D. This initiative is both a marketing initiative to promote the Homegrown by Heroes logo to consumers around the state, as well as a resource hub to provide training opportunities; professional consultations with business, marketing, and sales professionals; professional photography, videography, and web design services; and other assistance to our state's Farmer Veterans.

super biochar logo wc2026

Super Biochar is a Connecticut-based climate-tech and soil restoration startup focused on rebuilding degraded, contaminated, and low-organic-matter soils across the Northeast. We combine engineered biochar blends (SuperMix™) with a soil-intelligence + MRV platform that tracks real improvements in soil health, carbon retention, nutrient holding capacity, and contaminant reduction over time.

Our platform integrates directly with Ward Labs via API, allowing soil test data to flow into our system automatically—no PDFs, no manual uploads—making it easier for farmers, gardeners, land stewards, and remediation teams to measure the impact of amendments like compost and biochar.

At the 2026 CT NOFA Winter Conference, we’ll be exhibiting:

  • Our biochar-based soil blends designed for New England soils
  • Soil-health before/after data from pilot sites across Connecticut
  • A demo of our soil-intelligence app and upcoming MRV capabilities
  • Educational materials on how biochar works with compost to improve yields, retain water, and support microbial life

We are committed to supporting farms, gardeners, and land-care professionals with practical, measurable tools that make soil improvement accessible, affordable, and scientifically grounded.
