DESCRIPTION:  \nBack by popular demand\, the NOFA Organic Land Care Program\, in collaboration with Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens and the City of Portland\, is bringing the accreditation program back to Southern Maine. This training is ideal for landscapers\, lawn care pros\, garden caretakers\, park and land trust managers\, landscape architects\, and educators who are interested in learning how to care for properties without toxic materials. Increasingly\, landscapers are using this unique course to prepare themselves for the growing market of customers seeking nontoxic and organic landscaping services. \nThis 4-day course offers a well-rounded curriculum which will cover organic land care principles\, practices\, design\, and maintenance. This year\, in addition to the four-day course\, students can sign up for single-day sessions in either Organic Lawn and Turf or Planting for Sustainability – see below for further details about these individual sessions. All programs are eligible for MELNA continuing education credits. Those who complete the full program are eligible to earn professional organic landscaping credentials through NOFA. After successful completion of this course\, attendees become NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals (AOLCPs)\, joining over 600 NOFA-accredited professionals in 20 states. \nStudents can choose from two tracks during the breakout day on Wednesday\, October 23rd \n\n\n\nPlanting For Sustainability\n                             Organic Lawn and Turf\n\n\nPlanting for Sustainability with instructors who specialize in landscape design\, native plant propagation\, and horticulture and gardening.
