Work Location: Torrington/Cornwall CT

Term of Employment: 2024 Season working alongside current owners, assume ownership in 2025

Compensation Range: Start at $16/hr. and a CSA Share

Duties / Responsibilities

All aspects of our USDA Certified Organic Vegetable Farm to include greenhouse responsibilities (filling seedling trays, seeding and log entries, transplanting seedlings to appropriate size trays, watering); field work (equipment maintenance, prepping fields for planting, planting, setting up irrigation, weed control, insect control, thin & cultivate, harvest); processing (washing & bunching produce, picking berries); Farmers’ Market and farm stand set-up and take-down for CSA pick-up and retail customers. Everything you will need to know to transition and be successful.

Desired Applicant Experience

We are seeking experienced hard-working apprentices (preferably a couple) who want to learn and work with us in 2024 and then assume ownership of our USDA Certified Organic farm operation in 2025. Ownership will include all equipment, farming supplies & tools, mailing lists, web-site, greenhouse logs, existing markets, and use of currently leased properties. We are currently growing on 2 1/2 acres, equipment will handle up to 15 acres easily.
